e-MDs moves into multiple locations

emdsLOGOe-MDs Inc., a provider of electronic health records, has relocated from its former digs at 9900 Spectrum into multiple locations.  e-MDs’ new headquarters is now located at 7800 Shoal Creek (40,600 sf).

Groundwork started at Scottsdale Crossing Commerce Park

Scottsdale Crossing Commerce Park

Construction is underway at Scottsdale Crossing Commerce Park, a 160-acre master-planned, deed-restricted business park located on the east side of Toll 183A, 1.5 miles north of FM 1431 in Cedar Park.  Real estate group TIG broke ground on the Building I – a 27,500 square foot office flex building which is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of this year.  Building II and III are slated to offer 15,000 square feet each.  The plan calls for seven flex buildings in all to join additional retail, restaurant, medical and professional facilities as well as residential development.

Costco coming to Cedar Park

Cedar Park will be the home of a new Costco big-box store by the end of 2014. Austin City Council approved a $6 million development agreement with Costco to build a new 153,700 sf store on 16 acres to anchor the Cedar Park Town Center project located at the northwest corner of Toll 183A and FM 1431. Plans call for an additional 200,000 square feet of retail space on the remaining 33 acres of the project.  Costco is scheduled to open by the end of 2014.

Cedar Park Regional building sold

Duke Realty acquired a four-story medical office building on the campus of the Cedar Park Regional Medical Center.  The purchase price of the 83,383-square-foot building was not disclosed.

The acquisition brings Indianapolis-based company’s holding in the Austin area to more than 180,000 square feet of medical office space, and its total Texas portfolio to nearly 1.2 million square feet.

Costco to build store in Cedar Park, officials say

In good sign for local retail market, Wal-mart plans four new Austin-area supercenters

In a healthy sign for the Central Texas retail market, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. says it plans to build four new supercenters in the area, with locations in Cedar Park, Manor, Kyle and Elgin.

Each store will be 150,000 square feet and employ about 300 associates, creating about 1,200 jobs, company officials said.  The stores in Kyle, Elgin and Manor will be Wal-Mart’s first entry into those markets. The supercenter planned for Cedar Park would be the second for that area northwest of Austin.

The announcement by the nation’s largest retailer is one of the strongest indications yet that the retail market could be picking up in Central Texas after shoppers reined in spending during the downturn.

NAI REOC Austin represents sale of Cedar Park tract

Kurt VanderMeulen and Josh Hubka of REOC Austin represented the sale of 20.45 acres located on Abbotsbury Drive situated northwest of Volente Road (FM 2769) in Cedar Park.  Scott Muller purchased the property.

1890 Ranch in Cedar Park bought for $97.6M

The 1890 Ranch shopping center in Cedar Park has been acquired for $97.6 million in a joint venture by Illinois-based Inland Western Retail Real Estate Trust Inc. and Canada-based RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust.  The 486,896-square-foot shopping center, located near U.S. Highway 183A and FM 1431, is anchored by Academy Sports, Cinemark, PetSmart, Ross Dress for Less and Super Target.

Whitestone Boulevard developers quickly filling in corridor

The stretch of Whitestone Boulevard between Toll 183A and Arrow Point Drive has grown considerably in the past 10 years, and with several developments moving through the pipeline, the corridor is shaping up to be an encapsulation of Cedar Park’s goal to be a place where residents can live, work and play.
