REOC AUSTIN Facilitates Deep Eddy Vodka's Purchase of Buda Facility

REOC Austin Logo Outlines No CapitolMark Milstead, Senior Vice President, Industrial Specialist for REOC Austin, a locally-based commercial real estate company, represented Heaven Hill Brands (dba Deep Eddy Vodka) in its recent purchase of a 194,574-square-foot facility located at 150 Precision Drive in Buda, Texas. 

The Buda facility is a second location for Austin-based Deep Eddy Vodka which was recognized as the #1 fastest-growing spirits brand in the US, according to IRI.  Special thanks to Greg Marberry of CBRE who represented the seller, Lone Star CCC, LP.

Deep Eddy set to construct second distillery in Buda.

After Deep Eddy Vodka’s distillery building near Dripping Springs had been bought by an out-of-state investor, the spirits company is expanding east, drawn by a large unused space and economic incentives.

Deep Eddy would open within months a second distilling facility inside a vacant 194,000-square-foot facility in Buda, south of Austin. Deep Eddy pledged Tuesday afternoon to continue operating its original distillery and tasting room in Dripping Springs.  …Read Entire Post

Austin: TxDOT breaking ground on I-35 improvements

The Texas Department of Transportation is breaking ground on its Mobility35 program to add between $4.3 billion and $4.5 billion worth of improvements to I-35 in Central Texas. TxDOT plans to break ground June 29 on I-35 improvements from Stassney Lane to William Cannon Drive in South Austin.

Mobility35, which TxDOT launched in 2011 in partnership with the city of Austin, the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, and other local leaders and agencies, are planned for 65 miles on I-35 from SH 130 in Georgetown to Posey Road in San Marcos. …Read Entire Post

Buda lands Main Street property for new facilities

Buda City Hall will have a new address, and so will the city’s public library and police department.

On Jan. 6, Buda City Council approved ratifying documents in connection with the $1.7 million purchase of 8.6 acres on Main Street, near downtown. The city purchased the land from D.L. Jardine Foods, a food producer whose headquarters on Chisholm Trail is near the city’s Stagecoach Park.

Abandoned Buda truck stop to become Pinballz Kingdom

The Dorsett truck stop located at exit 221 along the Interstate Highway 25 corridor is slated to find new life as Pinballz Kingdom.  Darren Spohn, owner of Pinballz Arcade in Austin, plans to bring his entertainment concept to the abandoned Buda facility.

Opened in 1979, the Dorsett 221 truck stop, at 15201 IH-35, was once a popular place for truckers as well as families.  In addition to being known for its chicken-fried steak and breakfast tacos, the truck stop was easily identified by its castle-looking exterior.

Sunstate Equipment Co. opens second location in Central Texas

Sunstate Equipment Co. has purchased an 11-acre industrial property on IH-35 in Buda from Carlstead Trucking. NAI Austin Industrial specialists Jerry Heare and Mark Milstead co-brokered the transaction with Jones Lang Lasalle.

Sunstate Equipment Co. provides rental equipment, from hand tools to large forklifts and cranes, to industrial and construction companies. It operates an existing location in north Austin on IH-35.
