$40 million Southwest Austin project planned

M&EAustin-based Stratus Properties Inc. said Wednesday that it has secured financing for the first phase of Lantana Place, a mixed-use project in Southwest Austin that will include a 10-screen dine-in movie theater.

The 38,000-square-foot theater, part of the growing Moviehouse and Eatery chain, is expected to open in the second quarter of 2018. …Read Entire Post

Austin suburb lands new grocery store anchored retail center

oak meadows_georgetownMore retail development is headed to Georgetown, Cypress Equities of Dallas started construction Thursday of the 77,050-square-foot Oak Meadows Marketplace, a shopping center on 11.2 acres at the southwest corner of Williams Drive and Jim Hogg Road that will be anchored by a Randalls. The stores are expected to open in December 2017.

Two additional tenants have been secured for Oak Meadows: Organic Nails & Spa has signed for 2,097 square feet and Natural Pawz, a pet supply and grooming business, has signed for 1,700 square feet. That leaves about 16,000 square feet of retail space up for grabs. …Read Entire Post

Bebe plans to shutter stores, including in Austin area

bebe_logoBebe Stores Inc. is planning to shutter its locations and become an online-centric retailer, according to Bloomberg.

Citing unnamed sources, the report says the Brisbane, California-based women’s retailer is trying to close the stores without filing for bankruptcy. Bloomberg’s sources say, however, that a Chapter 11 filing will be necessary if landlords aren’t willing to negotiate. …Read Entire Post

Plaza Saltillo won final zoning approval from city council

The deal sets a building height limit of 70 feet for the entire project, which sits on about 10 acres along Capital Metro train tracks, but Endeavor could exercise the option to build a 125-foot office building.

Its efforts paid off earlier this month with the successful sale of the property to the same buyer who previously experienced cold feet.

TA Realty of Massachusetts, through an affiliate named FHF I Oaks at Lakeway LLC, purchased the center in the tony suburb of Lakeway northwest of Austin for $114 million in cash on Feb. 15, the companies announced. …Read Entire Post

Austin developer buys downtown IHOP site

ihop-logoThe IHOP at Interstate 35 and East Cesar Chavez Street was acquired late last year by WC 707 Cesar Chavez LLC, an entity the Texas Secretary of State says is linked to World Class Capital Group.

A purchase price was not disclosed. The Travis Central Appraisal District valued the .77-acre site at 707 E. Cesar Chavez St. at $8.1 million last year, up from $5.4 million in 2015. …Read Entire Post
