National Instruments to add 1,000 Austin jobs, invest $80 million

 

National Instruments

National Instruments, a pioneering technology company in Austin, plans to invest $80 million and add 1,000 technical and engineering jobs locally over the next 10 years to serve its steadily expanding business.  The project was announced by the Texas governor’s office, which said the company will receive $4.4 million in incentives from the state-run Texas Enterprise Fund to close the deal.

HID Global purchases land in NE Austin for 200,000 sf facility

California-based HID Global, which designs and produces a range of security and identity-authentication technologies, recently purchased 22.76 acres at 617 Center Ridge for an undisclosed amount from Centerstate 99 Ltd. with plans to build a $36-million operations center in Northeast Austin that will span 200,000 square feet. …Read Entire Post

News group plans HQ facility at 130 Commerce Center

Community Impact Newspaper recently purchased five acres of land in the master-planned development at 130 Commerce Center to build a $2.5 million campus featuring a 16,000 square-foot corporate headquarters.  Construction of the facility located at the southwest corner of SH 130 and Pecan St. is expected to be complete by the end of next year. 

Upon completion, the 60 Pflugerville employees will vacate nearly 10,000 square feet of office space at 821 Grand Avenue Parkway in order to move into the new space.

Apple to create 3,600 jobs in Austin

Texas Gov. Rick Perry announced March 9th that Apple will expand its operations in Austin with a $304 million investment in a new campus that will create 3,600 new jobs.  The new campus will more than double the size of Apple’s workforce in Texas over the next decade, supporting the company’s growing operations in the Americas with expanded customer support, sales and accounting functions for the region.

SunPower investing $10M in Austin

San Jose, CA-based SunPower Corp., leader in solar technology, announced plans to invest $10 million to establish a new U.S. operations facility in Austin, Texas.  The company is expected to create 450 jobs over the next four years.  The Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) is supporting the expansion with a $2.5 million investment. …Read Entire Post

Industrial Tenant Opportunities Abound in Southeast Austin

Airport Commerce Park –Austin Developers recently completed this 44.32-acre business park, located at the northwest corner of U. S. Highways 71 East and 183 South, on the north side of Airport Commerce Drive. Six buildings, ranging from 43,600 to 69,000 square feet and totaling 327,809 square feet, complete the first phase of the business park. Currently, 278,000 square feet are available.
