$20M Facility Coming to Pflugerville

Flooring Services Southwest is relocating its Central Texas headquarters from Austin after closing on a 30-acre tract in the southern portion of the Commerce Center. Engineering firm to build $12M HQ in Round Rock

Square Cow Movers expands to Cedar Park

The business, which now has more than 150 employees, seven locations in Texas and one location in Denver, opens a new 40,000-square-foot facility at 2500 Brushy Creek Loop, Cedar Park, Oct. 1. The warehouse will offer a new line of temporary storage services to customers in transition, allowing them to move possessions out of their previous home, even if they cannot move them straight to their new home.

New headquarters coming to Austin.

The 13-year-old tech company, which last year reported helping cargo transporters big and small generate over $150 million in sales through its online marketplace, is constructing a three-story, 45,000-square-feet campus at 205 E. Riverside Drive.

Most of the new jobs to come online will be software developers and sales professionals, executives said. The company will stay put at two downtown sites — one on Brazos Street and one on Congress Avenue — until at least the end of the year. …Read Entire Post

UPS distribution facility to begin construction in Round Rock.

UPS will build a new package distribution and warehouse facility in Round Rock following an economic development deal approved by City Council May 12.

The council approved an economic development agreement with United Parcel Service Inc., otherwise known as UPS, to open a warehouse and distribution facility as well as hire at least 314 full-time equivalent employees.

The agreement states UPS will purchase approximately 50 acres of land and invest at least $70 million in facility improvements and personal property. According to a release from UPS, the package processing facility will include automated sorting systems and will house approximately 300 UPS delivery vehicles. The Round Rock building is expected to open at the end of 2018. …Read Entire Post

Capital Area Food Bank breaks ground on new facility

The Capital Area Food Bank has broken ground on its new $20 million facility at the corner of Metropolis Drive and Burleson Road in southeast Austin.

The 135,000-square-foot facility will help the nonprofit meet growing demand for its services as Austin’s population continues to grow, with the ability to distribute 60 million pounds of food per year when it is complete.

National Instruments to add 1,000 Austin jobs, invest $80 million

 

National Instruments

National Instruments, a pioneering technology company in Austin, plans to invest $80 million and add 1,000 technical and engineering jobs locally over the next 10 years to serve its steadily expanding business.  The project was announced by the Texas governor’s office, which said the company will receive $4.4 million in incentives from the state-run Texas Enterprise Fund to close the deal.
