Shovels ready for $18M office, industrial park in suburb north of Austin

More than 231,000 square feet of office and spec industrial space are headed for Cedar Park. Austin company to break ground on $200 million data center

data-foundry-2Data Foundry Inc. is ready to break ground on Texas 2, a 325,000-square-foot data center in Southeast Austin. When completed, the facility will be valued at $200 million, according to company officials.

The campus is located at 4100 Smith School Road near East Stassney Lane and Burleson Road and encompasses 40 acres. Texas 1 and 2 are co-location centers — that is, they will provide data center services to multiple clients. Texas 2 is projected to deliver in third quarter 2017. …Read Entire Post

Vacant Four Points Wal-Mart location sold to investor

The 220,000-square-foot Wal-Mart Supercenter near Concordia University, located at 8201 N. RR 620, was sold to PacVentures Inc., a California-based commercial real estate company.

The store closed Jan. 28. “We are looking at converting [the building] into offices and nontraditional uses such as recreational facilities,” Founding Principal Andrew Kaplan said. …Read Entire Post

3M is selling its 156-acre Austin campus

Materials company 3M, best known for its Post-it notes and Scotch tape, is selling its main 156-acre campus in Austin, the company has confirmed.

The company declined to reveal the list price for the property, which includes 1 million square feet of office space. The 3M land, at RM 620 and RM 2222, is home to employees who work in 3M’s “electronics and energy” group, as well as its research and development facility. A separate manufacturing facility is off Research Boulevard and is not part of the sale.  …Read Entire Post

Schwab starting $86 million project in North Austin

Project is set to break ground by the end of the year.

Charles Schwab Corp. is poised to break ground on two buildings totaling roughly $86 million in new construction. Schwab purchased the property in August 2014, including the 187,000-sf Tivoli Building, which it recently spent about $14.5 million renovating. Oracle Corp. has started site work at its new Southeast Austin campus, the next step in a project that will transform a once-neglected section of the city that has experienced rapid gentrification in recent years.

The 25-acre site is near Lakeshore Boulevard and Pleasant Valley Road in the East Riverside Drive corridor. The parcel has been cordoned off by chainlink fencing and green tarps. The Northern California software giant declined to comment on the project. …Read Entire Post

Domain set to unveil final phase: Domain Northside

Nearly a decade after The Domain first opened, Austin-based developer Endeavor Real Estate Group is putting the finishing touches on the project’s third and final phase. The new phase, to be called Domain Northside, will be anchored by Austin’s second Nordstrom department store and a multi-story RH store, a new concept from Restoration Hardware.

More than 20 shops and restaurants have committed to the project, including many that are new to Austin, new to Texas or even new to the U.S. entirely, such as Suitsupply, FRYE Boots, Flower Child, Culinary Dropout and Cyclone Anaya’s. The 43-acre, 600,000-square-foot development also includes a 171-room boutique hotel affiliated with the high-end Archer brand. HEBStratus Properties recently announced plans for Lakeview Town Center – a $50 million retail development set to break ground in 2014 in the community of Lakeway.  The proposed project will span approximately 240,000 square feet to include mixed retail and residential space on 75 acres at Glen Heather Drive off of RM 620.   H-E-B will reportedly anchor the project with a 90,000 square foot store.  …Read Entire Post
