Another aspiring tech disruptor hits Austin

callboxA North Texas company with a disruptive take on storage is expanding to Austin with a 40,000-square-foot lease of warehouse space.

Callbox Storage LLC recently signed for the space in Pflugerville, off Howard Lane east of I-35. The company did not want to reveal the exact location, citing security concerns. Google leasing an additional 100,000 sqft.

Google is growing its downtown Austin footprint, even before its first employees set foot in the company’s new space in the sleek new office tower called 500 West 2nd.

Google’s new space will consolidate employees from other locations, including North Mopac Boulevard (Loop 1) and University Park just north of downtown. In 2015, Google confirmed that it had signed a lease for more than 200,000 square feet of space in 500 West 2nd. …Read Entire Post

Trusource Labs Signs 32,500 SF Office Lease at Parmer 3.2 in Austin

Karlin Real Estate has signed Trusource Labs, a technical support services company, to a long-term lease for 32,500 square feet at Parmer 3.2. The 192,500-square-foot, Class A office building is located within Parmer, a 300-acre technology and life science park in north-central Austin.

The lease at Parmer 3.2 allows Trusource Labs to consolidate 250 employees working from the offices of two of its local clients. The company will continue to maintain its south Austin corporate headquarters. Trusource will occupy the property next February.

Lamar Central grows

New additions to Lamar Center are now almost full.

The new Lamar Central development is nearly full following a few recent additions. The mixed-use project at 3800 N. Lamar Blvd. is already home to the corporate headquarters for Austin jeweler Kendra Scott, as well as Westlake Dermatology and Snooze, a breakfast-focused restaurant.

Now, Campagna Napoli and Finley’s Barber Shop are joining the tenant mix. Campagna Napoli has signed a five-year lease and will occupy about 1,800 square feet at the development, Highland Resources said. …Read Entire Post

Modern Market opening it’s second location in Austin.

A retail site on the ground floor of the Frost Bank Tower that has sat vacant since mid-2014 is in store for a couple of new tenants.

Modern Market, a restaurant chain, has signed for more than 2,600 square feet on the south side of 401 Congress Ave., Suite 100, which previously housed upscale eateries including McCormick & Schmick’s and Willie G’s Seafood & Steaks. The north side of the site has been leased by an undisclosed fitness company.

Going once, going twice, sold! Downtown Austin office building sells

austin_900Congress900 Congress, a downtown office building and parking garage, has been acquired by Cielo Property Group.The 64,000-sf office building is at West Ninth St. and Congress Ave.

The building is five stories tall and is currently occupied by a number of tenants, including Prosperity Bank and the Sneed Vine & Perry and Wright & Greenhill law firms. The nine-story parking garage is about a block away at 816 Colorado St.

Google to lease 200,000 square feet in new downtown Austin tower

Search engine giant Google Inc. is set to establish a major presence in downtown Austin, with plans to lease more than 200,000 square feet of a 29-story office tower being built as part of the redevelopment of the site that once housed the Thomas C. Green Water Treatment Plant.

Google did not say if the lease indicates plans to increase its employee numbers in Austin. The company has declined to release its current Austin headcount. Worldwide, the company has more than 50,000 employees. …Read Entire Post

Jobs2Careers moves in as first tenant in new Northwest Austin office park

jobs2careersOne Dec. 15, Jobs2Careers moved into its new offices at the Champion Office Par, a project that just finished construction at TM 2222 and Loop 360.

The job-seeking company relocated from 9606 N. MoPac into 13,000 square feet at Champion Office Park at 6433 Champion Grandview Way, Bldg. II, Suite 100.  Endeavor Real Estate Group designed and built the 220,600-square-foot campus. …Read Entire Post

Former Children's Museum downtown to house Google

Google Inc. recent leased 22,000 square feet at the former site of the Austin’s Children’s Museum located at 201 Colorado St.  The historic property, built in 1922, has remained empty since 2013 when the museum moved the newly named The Thinkery to 1830 Simond Avenue situated in the Mueller development.

According to the Austin Business Journal report, the California-based internet search giant also occupies two floors at University Park located at 3300 I-35 N and owns property at 9606 N MoPac Expressway and 101 W. Sixth St.
