Austin company to break ground on $200 million data center

data-foundry-2Data Foundry Inc. is ready to break ground on Texas 2, a 325,000-square-foot data center in Southeast Austin. When completed, the facility will be valued at $200 million, according to company officials.

The campus is located at 4100 Smith School Road near East Stassney Lane and Burleson Road and encompasses 40 acres. Texas 1 and 2 are co-location centers — that is, they will provide data center services to multiple clients. Texas 2 is projected to deliver in third quarter 2017.

Data Foundry was ranked No. 2 in Austin Business Journal’s most recent list of largest data centers with 290,000 square feet of space locally. Data Foundry also owns and operates 350,000 square feet of data center facilities in Houston.
