Summit at Rivery adds tenants as city acts on retail plan

The Summit at Rivery Park, the 32-acre mixed-use development between Rivery Boulevard and Williams Drive, will see new locations for Orangetheory Fitness and Woops BakeShop open by the fall, according to the companies.

The boutique retail development’s owner expects to add several more tenants before the end of 2017, including a brick-oven pizza restaurant, according to Jeff Novak, managing partner with Novak Brothers, the company behind the retail development. …Read Entire Post


Holt Caterpillar retail center spurs additional development projects

By the end of 2018, the heavy-equipment supplier plans to construct a retail center at least 60,000 square feet in size at 2101 Airport Road, Georgetown, north of the intersection of Lakeway Drive and I-35.

Georgetown officials said the project is still in the planning phase, as is a planned expansion of Airport into a four-lane roadway and a new water line. City officials also said they are seeing increased activity and interest in the area near the future retail center due to its proximity to the airport and I-35, and they see the location as a prime spot for future retail and industrial development. …Read Entire Post

Austin suburb lands new grocery store anchored retail center

oak meadows_georgetownMore retail development is headed to Georgetown, Cypress Equities of Dallas started construction Thursday of the 77,050-square-foot Oak Meadows Marketplace, a shopping center on 11.2 acres at the southwest corner of Williams Drive and Jim Hogg Road that will be anchored by a Randalls. The stores are expected to open in December 2017.

Two additional tenants have been secured for Oak Meadows: Organic Nails & Spa has signed for 2,097 square feet and Natural Pawz, a pet supply and grooming business, has signed for 1,700 square feet. That leaves about 16,000 square feet of retail space up for grabs. …Read Entire Post

City moves forward with design for Downtown West development

Georgetown city staff is moving forward with detailed design work for Downtown West, a project that would consolidate city offices into a civic center just west of the Square, after receiving direction from City Council to proceed with a $13 million overall budget at its Aug. 23 workshop session.

The project, which was outlined in the city’s 2003 and 2014 downtown master plans, will repurpose the former library at 808 Martin Luther King Jr. St. to serve as City Hall, and the Georgetown Communications and Technology building at 510 W. Ninth St. would become the municipal court and City Council chambers. A green space would also be added. Three of Top 15 fastest growing U.S. cities located in Austin area

Texas cities are among the fastest growing in the nation according to the latest data released by the U.S. Census Bureau.  For the year ending July 1, 2013, seven of the top 15 fastest-growing cities in the U.S. are in Texas (cities included must have at least 50,000 residents).

New retailers opening at area shopping centers

Two Simon Property Group properties have added several new retailers to its tenant lineup.  The Arboretum located at 9333 Research Blvd. in North Austin gained The Orvis Company Inc. (8,800 sf), Blue Baker (6,519 sf) and Z Gallerie Inc. (8,712 sf).  Wolf Ranch Town Center located at the southwest corner of Interstate Highway 35 and State Highway 29 in Georgetown announced the addition of Gold’s Gym Express (16,522 sf) and Ross Stores Inc. (27,639 sf).

Drywall, acoustical supplier expands to the Austin area

NAI Austin Industrial Specialist Mark Milstead negotiated the sublease of 8040 sq. ft. at 110 Market Street to Gypsum Supply, Ltd. Gypsum is a Dallas company that specializes in drywall and acoustical supplies.

Started in 1991, Gypsum Supply, Ltd. helped created Amarok, a co-op that joins the resources of independent gypsum dealers. Amarok now has over 170 members and 300 locations nationwide. Gypsum Supply, Ltd. is looking to expand in Texas and was bought by the Wright Family in 2006.
