New additions to Lamar Center are now almost full.

The new Lamar Central development is nearly full following a few recent additions. The mixed-use project at 3800 N. Lamar Blvd. is already home to the corporate headquarters for Austin jeweler Kendra Scott, as well as Westlake Dermatology and Snooze, a breakfast-focused restaurant.

Now, Campagna Napoli and Finley’s Barber Shop are joining the tenant mix. Campagna Napoli has signed a five-year lease and will occupy about 1,800 square feet at the development, Highland Resources said. …Read Entire Post


Check out what's set to replace Willie G's in Frost Bank Tower

Modern Market opening it's second location.

Modern Market opening it’s second location in Austin.

A retail site on the ground floor of the Frost Bank Tower that has sat vacant since mid-2014 is in store for a couple of new tenants.

Modern Market, a restaurant chain, has signed for more than 2,600 square feet on the south side of 401 Congress Ave., Suite 100, which previously housed upscale eateries including McCormick & Schmick’s and Willie G’s Seafood & Steaks. The north side of the site has been leased by an undisclosed fitness company.

Water park, hotel and conference center slated for Round Rock

Kalahari water park, resort coming to Round Rock.

The city of Round Rock announced June 15 it is working with a company to bring a destination hotel, conference center and water park to the city in a move that city leaders are saying could turn Round Rock into a tourist destination.

The Round Rock location will feature up to 1,000 guest rooms, indoor and outdoor water parks, and a convention center. The development will also include additional entertainment, recreation and other mixed uses on 334 acres on Hwy. 79 across from the Dell Diamond and Old Settlers Park, according to city documents. …Read Entire Post

$271M sale of city's largest shopping center closes


Blackstone purchases about 910,000 square feet of retail space from RioCan.

A large portion of Southpark Meadows shopping center, the biggest development of its kind in the Austin area, has changed hands. Mega-investor The Blackstone Group purchased Phases I and II of the South Austin regional shopping center — about 910,000 square feet — from Canada-based RioCan real estate investment trust.

The deal — part of a $1.9 billion, 50-property portfolio sale — recently closed after being announced last year. …Read Entire Post

Domain set to unveil final phase: Domain Northside

New development for The Domain shopping center

Nearly a decade after The Domain first opened, Austin-based developer Endeavor Real Estate Group is putting the finishing touches on the project’s third and final phase. The new phase, to be called Domain Northside, will be anchored by Austin’s second Nordstrom department store and a multi-story RH store, a new concept from Restoration Hardware.

More than 20 shops and restaurants have committed to the project, including many that are new to Austin, new to Texas or even new to the U.S. entirely, such as Suitsupply, FRYE Boots, Flower Child, Culinary Dropout and Cyclone Anaya’s. The 43-acre, 600,000-square-foot development also includes a 171-room boutique hotel affiliated with the high-end Archer brand. CRAVE, selected as one of the Hot Concepts! award winners in 2011 by Nation’s Restaurant News, is opening a new location in the former Roy’s restaurant space at 340 E. Second Street in Austin’s Convention Center District.  The space sat vacant for over three years while the landlord worked patiently to identify the best tenant to occupy the space.

Egg & I coming to North Austin

North Austin is getting a new spot to order its eggs over easy. Colorado-based breakfast restaurant The Egg & I is opening its first Austin location sometime in late 2011 or early 2012 in a 3,600-square-foot space in Northcross Center at 2525 W. Anderson Lane.

Details emerge for Lamar Plaza redevelopment

A site plan filed at Austin City Hall contains new details about the planned redevelopment of Lamar Plaza, which is home to iconic businesses such as the South Austin Gym, Alamo Drafthouse and The HighBall nightclub.  The shopping center was built in the 1950s and sources said that when it’s redeveloped, Alamo Drafthouse and The Highball will have newer — possibly larger — homes.  …Read Entire Post

Papa John’s coming to Lakeway Town Center

Papa John’s has leased 1,304 square feet of space in the Lakeway Town Center, located at 2422 RR 620 South in Lakeway, Texas. Travis Waldrop and Jolie Schooler of NAI Austin represented the landlord.

Papa John’s, a pizza delivery business, was established in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Its first pizza restaurant opened in 1984; there are now over 3,000 locations worldwide.
